Responsibilities
- Manages proposal development process, sources proposal content from Operations, Project Management, Business Development, and senior management and ensures consistency, quality, and timeliness of proposal submissions.
- Prepares high quality, customer-focused domestic and global proposals including the text for proposals, project budgets, change orders, RFIs, RFPs, re-bids, and related documents for approval.
- Collaborates with the Business Development team to win business and achieve sales targets.
- Conducts analysis of proposal cost drivers to realize potential savings and updating costing sheets.
- Prepares, reviews, and finalizes domestic and global proposals/budgets; customizes documents to accurately reflect services to be provided.
- Reviews and oversees finalization of documents and distributions to internal departments for final review and submission to customer.
- Participates in resource calls with clients to support proposal development and negotiation activities; identifies discrepancies in client information.
- Coordinates with Operations, Project Management and Finance for input on proposals and RFx documents.
- Participates in bid defense preparation and bid defenses as needed.
- Maintains CRM data and develops RFx document library; ensures accurate information in tracking reports.
- Performs quality control edits on all documents and maintains proposal templates and procedures.
- Drives consistency, efficiency, and best practices in proposal development; supports process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Life Science, business management, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in proposal and contract development, or 3+ years of sales management/business development experience, or other comparable training and experience.
- Experience with Salesforce.com; CRO or services-based company experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication; professional, customer service oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams; ability to prepare and interpret budgets.
- Willingness to travel to channel partners such as CRO vendors (5% - 10%).
- Proficient with Word, Excel, and Windows-based email systems; strong follow-through and ownership of assignments.
- Ability to coordinate activities around preparation, production, and publication of sensitive documents.
Compensation
The expected base salary range for this position is $64,350 to $93,000. This salary range may vary based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, and geographic location.
Travel
5% - 10%
