Advanta is a global seed business operating in over 80 countries, part of UPL Group. Advanta supports crop breeding programs with innovation, high-quality seeds, agronomic practices, and crop protection solutions across tropical and subtropical geographies.

We are seeking a motivated individual to join a dynamic, fast-growing and diverse team in a high-throughput genotyping and molecular lab to support Advanta Seeds' crop breeding program.

Responsibilities

• Develop Adventitious Presence testing processes using Digital Droplet PCR (ddPCR).
• Continuously improve laboratory processes such as DNA extraction and end-point genotyping using high-throughput robotic platforms.
• Operate and maintain complex laboratory instrumentation.
• Accurately and timely document experiments and results; communicate project updates with other Scientists/Managers.
• Ensure workplace safety by adhering to safety SOPs.
• Train other lab technicians/Research Associates as needed.

Required and Desired Skills

• A PhD in biology, genetics, plant science, crop science, biotechnology, or related fields.
• Experience with plant DNA extraction protocols, Digital Droplet PCR, End-point PCR, and other routine molecular lab skills.
• Experience and knowledge in molecular marker development (SNPs), high-throughput genotyping, and lab automation.
• Understanding of plant molecular breeding applications (desired).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed written instructions and established SOPs.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and accountable; good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to track, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks to meet timelines.
• Industry experience (desired); cultural sensitivity.
