Job Overview

We are seeking innovators to join our newly formed Applications Engineering (AE) Team at Bryan Research & Engineering, LLC (BR&E). In this role, you will work closely with other AE Team members to develop and deploy automated ProMax models tailored to customer facilities, driving enhanced reliability and process optimization in the energy and chemicals industries. This position offers opportunities to leverage your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and passion for invention to deliver impactful solutions that shape the future of energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Model Development: Design and implement automated ProMax models as soft sensors to optimize oil & gas and petrochemical processes using real-time plant data.
• Customer Collaboration: Partner with clients to understand their facility operations, process requirements, and optimization goals.
• Process Optimization: Analyze simulations to identify opportunities for improving reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of customer facilities.
• Project Management: Manage projects from initial scope to final delivery, ensuring timely completion.
• Knowledge Sharing: Publish and present technical papers at professional forums, conferences, and associations.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with BR&Es Development Team to enhance ProMax capabilities, incorporating feedback from customer applications.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  • Work experience in a plant production environment in oil & gas or related industries (upstream/midstream, refining, and petrochemicals) is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience applying process simulation software to solve challenging problems.
  • Experience with process control systems and process troubleshooting is a plus.
• Skills:
  • Creative problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Polished communication skills for collaborating with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with scripting (e.g., Python, VBA) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with database programming and data historians is also desirable.
• Travel:
  • Travel to customer locations for on-site support or to industry conferences (5-10% travel expected).
