Position: Patient Care Tech / Health Unit CoordinatorLocation: Baylor Scott and White, College StationShift: Full-time Nights - 3 12 hours shifts with Rotating Weekends.Opportunities available in the following departments: Medical Surgical, ICU, IMCU, TelemetryJob SummaryThe Patient Care Technician handles various duties under a licensed nurse's supervision. Helps deliver patient care and meet family needs. Follows the care plan, considering the patient's age and development stage.What can you expect to do as a Patient Care Tech?* Collects and records patient data, including vital signs.* Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).* Responds to call lights and conducts regular patient rounds.* Provides personal hygiene care and assists with patient clean-up.* Adheres to Baylor Scott & White policies and procedures.* Performs glucose monitoring and collects specimens as requested.* Will be required to directly support multiple patients during each shift.Other Duties as may be needed* Tracks and reports quality data for the unit.* Completes and maintains files and forms for admissions, transfers, and discharges.* Assigns phones and location devices to appropriate staff members.* Maintains inventory, requisitions, and stocks supplies and equipment in the work area.* Greets visitors and provides assistance.* Answers telephones and communicates with the nursing team and medical staff using pagers, and cell phones, based on department needs.What will make you successful as a PCT?* Compassion - This is both a physically and emotionally demanding job.
