Nuclear Safety Analysis Manager

Description:

The Nuclear Safety Analysis Manager, guided by the Engineering Director, is chiefly responsible for developing and leading the safety analysis team, creating and expanding a high quality safety analysis function, and overseeing all activities related to safety assessments. This role also supports regulatory obligations and licensing efforts connected to the design and implementation of the company's Molten Salt Reactor technology.

Technical requirements:

  • Strong capability in using thermal hydraulic modeling tools such as Flownex, RELAP5, or comparable software.
  • Understanding of neutron analysis programs including MCNP, SCALE, Serpent, or related systems.
  • General familiarity with concepts used in probabilistic risk assessment.
  • Awareness of applicable regulatory guidance and technical standards, including those from NUREG, CSA, IAEA, DOE STD 1189, DOE STD 3009, and the requirements found in 10 CFR 830.
  • Experience working with licensing activities connected to the US NRC, the US DOE, or the Canadian CNSC.

Professional requirements:

  • Demonstrated background in expanding a team, taking part in recruitment activities, and guiding performance evaluation processes.
  • Ability to set team objectives, distribute resources, and oversee the workload for several projects at the same time.
  • Acts as a Technical Leader, maintaining a balance between direct technical contributions and managerial duties.
  • Engages with outside organizations such as national laboratories and professional consultants.

This is an on-site position in either College Station, TX or Charlotte, NC.
