The Pharmacist Intern learns under a Pharmacist's supervision. They provide care by helping compound and dispense medications. This follows federal, state, and local regulations and hospital policy. Essential Functions of the Role. Under a Pharmacist's supervision, performs technical and clerical tasks for medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing, including sterile admixtures and unit-dose drugs. Under a Pharmacist's supervision, compounds or mixes ingredients correctly. This includes IV admixtures, solutions, syringes, and irrigation solutions, following policies and procedures. Calculates the appropriate formula for drug to be compounded, weighing and measuring needed amounts with 100% accuracy. Prepares parenteral nutrition solutions and labels them appropriately.
