Substitute Teacher

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt: GED or HS Diploma - $80 per day/$40 per half-day Has Degree - $110 per day/$55 per half-day Teaching Certified - $120 per day/$60 per half day Reports to: Director/Principal School: Campus Assigned

Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate and 30 hours of college is preferred

Special Knowledge And Skills

Ability to instruct children assigned

Physical Abilities

Ability to stand for at least thirty minutes outside within 15 feet of students Ability to assist students tying shoes and button or unbutton coats

Purpose

Provide instructional services to elementary students. Provide a safe learning environment for all students.

Duties And Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery

Deliver daily instruction to students assigned Actively engage student in learning

Student Discipline

Maintain classroom discipline conducive to a learning environment Provide redirection and disciplinary alternatives to correct student behavior

Management

Maintain accurate records of student attendance Compile all records as requested Supervise students on field trips and events at the school and off site, if necessary

Working Environment

Maintain emotional control under the stress of instructional operations Be flexible in assisting others as requested Retirement is through a FICA Alternative Plan, 457(b), and not the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
