JOB SUMMARY:
The College Station Police Department Internship is a structured, educational experience designed to provide exposure to law enforcement functions through supervised, project-based learning and observation. Activities are intended to support the intern's academic development and are not intended to replace the work of sworn or civilian personnel. It is available for qualified undergraduate or graduate student (criminal justice, forensics, psychology, sociology, or other related field) with an interest in learning about the Police Department and its various functions in law enforcement. The intern will assist in researching, gathering, analyzing, and reporting based on the needs of the division they are assigned to assist. The position reports overall to the Administrative Services Lieutenant but will have individual hosts within the agency. Some potential areas of assignment include the following: Criminal Investigations, Crime Scene, GIS Services, Victim Services, Crime Analyst, and Administration.
